Join us November 3 for Lessons on FOIA and Environmental Information Access in the Trump Era

Seating is limited, please RSVP soon!

On Saturday, November 3, Environmental Data & Governance Initiative members Jake Wylie and Kevin Nguyen will be speaking at an all-day event hosted by our friends at the CUNY School of Law. We’ll be talking about changes our Web Monitoring research group has found in information access and how our Interviewing Project uses FOIA in its work.

FOIA — the Freedom of Information Act — “provides the public the right to request access to records from any federal agency.” FOIA requests are one of the foremost tools of American democracy, a primary means for assuring government transparency.

Join us for a day of conversation with environmental lawyers and journalists working to expose and fight environmental deregulation while advocating for science-based policy and public access. Develop your FOIA skills in strategy sessions with attorneys and journalists who use FOIA in environmental litigation and reporting. There will be coffee and lunch! ☕ ?

When: Saturday, November 3, 2018. ? 9:00am – 5:00pm ET

Where: CUNY School of Law. 2 Court Square, Long Island City, NY 11101
